Studied vocal historical practice in the classes of: Maria Cristina Kiehr (Trossingen), Emma Kirkby (London), Peter Kooij (Den Haag) and at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis .
She has participated in many master classes, including: Austria Barock Akademie, Vantaa Barokki Helsinki, Palazzo Ricci Montepulciano, in the classes of Maria Cristina Kiehr, Susanna Rydén, Jill Feldman, Bob van Asperen and many others.
She is a two-time winner of the renowned Jutta A. Palmer-Laeiszhalle Hamburg Foundation Award.
The soprano has performed with musicians such as: Jordi Savall /Le Concert des Nations/Hesperion XXI, Capella Reial de Catalunya, Philippe Herreweghe/ Collegium Vocale Gent, Roland Wilson/Köln, Manfred Cordes/ Weser Renaissance, Lauten Compagney, Hermann Max, Frieder Bernius, Ensemble Amarcord, Lorenz Duftschmid, Bach Consort Moskau and many others.
She has participated in recordings of CDs and DVDs for renowned labels and radio and television stations, including: Sony Music, CPO, Alia vox, outhere MUSIC; German television stations: NDR, WDR, Bayerischer Rundfunk and Ö1 Austria; Polish Radio, TV 2 Polska, TV Polonia; Radio Rossija-Moskwa, Europäisches Parlament, ARTE-France. In addition, she has recorded many CDs under the direction of Frieder Bernius.
The artist performs in the best halls of Europe and the world, including: Auditorium Barcelona & Palau de la Musica, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Sevilla; Milano LaVerdi, Teatro Perugia, Verona, Varese, Parma, Palazzo Montepulciano, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées Paris, Château de Versailles, BBC Proms-London; Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow & Mariinski – Theater in Saint Petersburg; and also in Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Canada, Guatemala, Argentina, Israel, El Salvador, Czech Republic, Finland, Norway, Poland, etc.
as part of renowned festivals: Bachfest Leipzig, Händel-Festspielen Halle, Offenes Palais Dresden, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Berliner Dom, Misteria Paschalia–Kraków.
She took part in opera productions cooperating with such theaters as: Theater Oostende, Theaterfestival in Veere, Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles, KVS Theater, Floraliënhal Gent, Oostende, Amphithéâtre in Namur, Le Mans-Grand Théâtre. Magdalena Podkościelna also conducts master classes in Montepulciano (Palazzo Ricci).
Magdalena Podkościelna has been cooperating with Baroque Collegium 1685 since 2021. She performed solo parts in the Bach repertoire: “Magnificat in D” and Oratorios BWV 11, 248 and 249 .
